During a time when quality of life matters more than ever, Visiting Nurses Foundation has partnered with Assured Home Health and Hospice to offer patients Comfort Therapies that can provide additional relief to patients and their families. Each year we sponsor a grant, enabling Assured Home Health and Hospice to offer essential comfort therapy services.
Comfort therapies are integrated with existing medical treatments and have been effective in reducing pain, promoting relaxation, and increasing quality of life for both hospice patients and their families. It is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid but plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care delivered to hospice patients.
Comfort therapy may include: Acupuncture/acupressure, Animal Assisted Therapy, Guided Imagery, Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch and Reiki, Massage, Music and Sound Therapy, Reflexology, Self hypnosis/Hypnotherapy
Respite care offers family caregivers a crucial break from their caregiving responsibilities, allowing them to recharge and attend to personal needs while ensuring their loved ones receive quality care.
At the Visiting Nurses Foundation we recognize the importance of family caregivers. Our Respite Care Grants provide funding for professional respite care services, giving caregivers the opportunity to take a step back and focus on their own well-being. Through a simple application process, caregivers can access funding to cover the cost of respite care, enabling them to rest assured that their loved ones are in capable hands while they take time for themselves.
By investing in respite care, we aim to prevent caregiver burnout and promote the health and resilience of family caregivers.

Visiting Nurse Foundation has partnered with Assured Hospice & Pet Peace of Mind® to "preserve the loving bond between seriously ill people and their pets." They teach hospices how to provide care assistance for their patients with pets. That is why we are teaming up with Assured Hospice, who has brought this partnership to Lewis County, to raise funds for hospice patients and their pets.
