the Visiting Nurses Foundation
Our Mission
The mission of the Visiting Nurses Foundation is to create funding for education and assistance of Home Health and Hospice patients and their families.
Assured Hospice Grant
In 2023, we awarded over $108,000 to Assured Hospice. Through this grant, the Visiting Nurses Foundation 100% funds the Assured Hospice comfort therapy program. This program provides services such as; massage, acupuncture, music therapy & more to keep hospice patients as comfortable as possible during the end of their life. These services are not covered by Medicare and Medicaid, but they are desperately needed for patients.
Individual Grants
The Visiting Nurses Foundation is here to support you & your family through life's toughest times. We offer individual grants for patients and their families that can help support them with financial assistance of medical care, groceries, funeral costs, and more.
Medical bank
The Visiting Nurses Foundation has Medical Equipment Banks located in both of our Chehalis and Centralia thrift stores. These equipment banks house over 2,000 pieces of equipment that are available for loan to any Lewis and Thurston County Residents.
Scholarships
The Visiting Nurses Foundation is committed to supporting future caregivers. In 2023 we have awarded $25,000 to students that are pursing a degree related to the medical field.
Respite Care
New to the Visiting Nurses Foundation this year is respite care. Respite care provides short term relief to families and primary caregivers. This rest period restores and strengthens the caregivers ability to continue providing care for their hospice patient. Join us March 14th, 2024 at the the Visiting Nurses Foundation "Road to Respite" gala as we kick off this new program!
